Description

This course Ethernet Network Training. Basic to Intermediate is for any of you who require the knowledge to create and maintain an Ethernet Network and be familiar with all the tools available.  You will be able to set up a basic Ethernet network and an industrial Ethernet/IP network.

During this course, I shall be covering as many aspects of Ethernet technology as possible.

My name is Jeff Sharman and I shall be your instructor during this training. I have had many years practical experience creating and maintaining networks and conducting courses on Ethernet.

The course will start by introducing you to the basic connections used on an Ethernet network.

Then we will cover all the necessary requirements to make the network operational.

Who Should Take This Course?

  • Anyone who is involved with maintaining or creating Ethernet networks.

  • Instrumentation and Control Systems personnel.

  • IT and network administrators.

  • Anyone who wishes to know more about Ethernet communication which is used on a daily basis.

Listed below are some of the topics I will cover with you in this course.

  • Introduction to Ethernet.

  • Numbering Systems. Very important.

  • The Seven Layer Model and Ethernet Frame.

  • The Different Wiring and Connection Options.

  • Managed and Unmanaged Switches.

  • IP Addresses and Subnet Masks.

  • Half-Duplex Communication.

  • Full Duplex Communication.

  • Setting Up a Network.

  • Redundancy Protocols.

  • Creating Vlan's.

  • The Software Tools Available to Manage Your Network.

  • Using Ethernet/IP to Connect to a PLC.

This is just a short description explaining what you will learn but there is a lot more that you will learn if you take the Ethernet Network Training. Basic to Intermediate training course.

There are a number of quizzes that you can complete after each section to help you reinforce your knowledge and gain confidence setting up networks.

At the end of the course, you will feel confident creating and running Ethernet and Ethernet/IP networks.

The majority of the course consists of video tutorials where I will explain all the different aspects of Ethernet Technology and how to achieve optimum communication.
