What is Airbnb? ( Just in case YOU dont know)

Airbnb is a massive network of owners and guests that only seems to be growing bigger as the economy continues to tank and spendable income continues to shrink.

As of 2015, Airbnb has hosted over 10 million guest stays at more than 550,000 properties across 175 countries and 26,000 cities.

Over 6 million guest stays in 2013, more than double the total in 2012. Of these 6 million stays, only 1/3 were within the United States.

The remainder was spread across the globe, further supporting the fact that Airbnb has a substantial international presence that is only getting stronger.

Now is the perfect time to take advantage of this incredible opportunity.

So FACTS about AirBNB:

"To date, tens of millions of travelers have chosen Airbnb to experience cities not as tourists, but as locals."

"Airbnb travelers stay longer and spend more in diverse neighborhoods throughout the city."

"Hundreds of thousands of hosts worldwide have welcomed these travelers into their homes. Hosting helps make ends meet."

"The Airbnb community benefits local economies across the world by supporting residents and local businesses, and encouraging cultural exchange."

Airbnb now has over 350,000 hosts, who are just ordinary people, renting their spaces in 192 countries. Last year alone, they booked 10 million rental nights in homes, apartments, rooms, and spaces just like yours.

Can you really earn Full-time Income using "AirBnb" ?

YES YOU CAN..........A private room on Airbnb rents for an average $120 / night.

The average amount an Airbnb host earns annually from temporarily renting out their space is $7,350...think for a second..what could you do with an extra $7,350 per year?

People all over the world are constantly on the go and traveling. Whether it is for business or pleasure. Therefore, there is always going to be a consistent market for clean, reliable and reasonably priced places to stay all over the world and being a host with Airbnb will allow you to take advantage of this marketplace, and as the host.

Airbnb - So Much Better Than Using a Hotel When You Travel! Preview 01:25

There are so many options available today when it comes to planning your hotel accommodations. For instance you can choose a hotel, motel, resort, bed and breakfast and so on. When you travel to large cities or when there is an event taking place in an area, many hotels want to charge high prices to stay in boring, drab rooms without any of the comforts of home. The next time you travel you may want to consider an alternative option to using a hotel.

10 Airbnb Guest Hacks: Save on Your Next Stay Preview 04:18

Last year, I tried Airbnb for the first time when traveling in order to save money on the costs of a hotel. I was staying in a pricey city and wanted to keep costs low for as many expenses as possible so I could spend more money on attractions.

If you haven’t heard of Airbnb, it’s an online marketplace where people who own properties can list out rooms or their entire home for short-term rent or lease. Travelers can create an account and browse properties they're interested in, then book their stay right on the site.

What I love about Airbnb is that their prices are very fair and much better than most hotels. Plus, if you’re looking to get a more authentic experience when you travel minus the concierge, hotel housekeeping, and overpriced breakfast buffets, Airbnb is a solid option.

My first experience with Airbnb actually had some good and bad aspects, but I can honestly say that it was a great learning experience and I wish I would have taken more time to properly prepare beforehand.

If you’re thinking of trying out Airbnb for yourself, these hacks will help you save time, money, and enhance your overall experience.

Are Airbnb and Other Hosts Protected by Homeowners' Insurance Preview 01:17

You probably never stopped to consider whether your homeowners' insurance would cover property damage or liability claims caused by someone who is renting your house. Why would you? After all, the last thing on most people's mind is how an insurance policy will respond to some, unknown future loss.

Home-sharing services like Airbnb and HomeAway have turned a lot of ordinary homeowners into part-time innkeepers. The Pew Research Center found that 11% of American adults have used home-sharing services. Airbnb alone boasts of having over 3 million listings worldwide.

Some of the Best Budget Travel Hacks Preview 02:04

We all love to travel. And yet most of us hold back because of finances. However, what we often don't consider is how one can travel on a budget.

Here are a few travel hacks which will let you indulge in your penchant for traveling while being easy on your pocket.

Understanding a Hotel's Place in a Bed-And-Breakfast World Preview 01:41

Unlicensed lodgings represent a growing change to the hospitality industry. Hotels must now face a new competitor in the form of any person with a spare room and access to websites such as AirBnB. However, consumers must also understand how the two services now differ as far as expectations, regulations and more.

For those who are unaware, new websites allow properties owners-or sometimes simply those with lax lease agreements-to list their spare rooms for lodging. There are certain expectations, but these are largely negotiated between the owner and occupant, with the websites acting simply as an intermediary for money exchange and advertisement.

How to Get Cheap Accommodation Using Travel Hacking Preview 03:59

Accommodation is one of the biggest costs backpackers have and lowering that cost can lead to big savings! It's probably the second biggest cost after the flights tickets. So how to get cheap accommodation using travel hacking?

No matter what your accommodation preferences may be, the one thing that everyone has in common is that nobody wants to pay a lot for it. Since you have to stay at some place every night, lowering this expense can save you a lot of money off the total cost of your travel. Finding free or inexpensive bed will have the biggest impact on your wallet.

Here is the secrets of how to get cheap accommodation using travel hacking!

The Rise in Popularity of the Serviced Apartment Preview 02:34

Serviced apartments are a relatively recent phenomenon. They are fully furnished flats that have similar amenities to hotel rooms and can be used for either short-term or longer-term stays, offering a more home-from-home type experience. Some of the main benefits of staying in a serviced apartment as opposed to a hotel room are that they offer on average 30% more space, more privacy, and are more cost-effective in terms of there being no extra hidden costs and fully equipped kitchens reduces meal expenses. According to The Apartment Service, serviced apartments are around 15 - 30% cheaper than hotel rooms, adding to their appeal to businesses and the discerning tourist alike.

Slightly Surreal: Strange Trends in Real Estate Preview 01:42

For most people, the word "house" conjures certain images found in childhood drawings. If you have a building with mostly right angles, a single front door, a few chest-high windows, and a chimney, you've probably got a prototypical home. However, real estate is a changing field, and people are seeking unique housing options that don't quite fit inside the box.

Top Do's and Don'ts for Hotel Revenue & Distribution Managers Preview 04:43

Hotel revenue management may seem like yet another type of management from a lot of myriads of management types in the business landscape, but Revenue Management is the heart of the entire hospitality industry where a revenue manager must orchestrate the bookings and room price in such a manner that it maximizes revenue.

The primary job of a revenue manager (traditionally) all day was to monitor the fluctuating rates and update their own inventory rate according to the market equation to sell the inventory at highest possible rates in the least possible time and at the same time maintaining high occupancy, RevPAR, and ADR. However, as the times have changed and technology has stepped its foot in almost every industry, there are countless Hotel Revenue Management Tools, like Rate Shopper, Channel Manager, Rate Optimizer, Online Reputation Manager, which have reduced the work of revenue managers in half and doubled the efficiency.

An Inexpensive Option To Visit Places Preview 01:42

A vacation is not wallet comfortable, but certainly is a fascinating idea. As you add the hotels cost, admission to attractions and meals out, it is highly expensive. Are you considering inexpensive options? It is possible. Traveling to tourist places is best on knowing the budget. Choose a hotel after booking a flight; create an itinerary and budget that you wish to spend.

To begin with, the transportation costs include visiting places and getting around the city. The cab fares and the costs of public transportation should be considered. Even if you drive, the parking is not free and the downtown parking is limited, while at your hotel also there is no free parking.

Secondly, the accommodations take the biggest chunk. Start to shop within your budget. However, now that you have come on a vacation and are the adventurous type means consider Airbnb, as alternatives.

What are the best tips for someone using Airbnb for the first time? Preview 02:24

Be forthcoming with personal info. Fill in your profile, get verified.

Print out your contact info and directions and take paper copies with you as well as having the app on your phone. My studio apartment is in a rural area where the roads are dark and winding and wifi and GPS not always reliable.

If the rfirst contact # does not work, look for a second, in case of being lost or emergencies. Yes, even hosts forget to charge their phones sometimes. Keep trying if you need to contact someone.

Be friendly. This is a social encounter for many of us, not just a business deal.

Giving a host less than 5 stars hurts their chance of getting SuperHost status and if you down rate the location because you would rather have been closer to the airport, downtown, your convention (but the host clearly indicated the area for the house) you are being unfair to all.

If you want a “real” living-someplace Airbnb experience don't book with properties that have managers, rather with home and apartment owners. If you want a more antiseptic, a less personal, more hotel like experience, book properties with managers — these are more likely to be short-term rental professional properties. BUT, be sure you have a way to get in touch after-hours!

Some properties are in tourist areas, others are in regular neighborhoods. Be sure when you book that you understand where you will be, access or not to public transportation, Uber or LYFT or whatever. Ye, you may hear a neighbors dog or a siren or street noise. Take earplugs if you are a sensitive sleeper and used to a really quiet bedroom! Ask ahead of time about how big, soft/hard etc the bed is if that is important to you. Do your part to have a good experience.

IF you have an issue or a problem with anything contact the host first. Often a small issue can be easily resolved. I can bring you dis soap or get a neighbor to do so if it has been overlooked. Mistakes can be made but can be made up for, too.

Be realistic, I rent a wonderful 2- bedroom home for less than $100 a night, but have had guests complain that I provide 1-ply toilet paper from Costco. First, the property is older and the sewer line does better that way. Second, the cost! At any property, especially older ones, don't put anything in the toilet except the expected and toilet paper, no baby wipes, sanitary supplies, etc.

If you are in a shared space be considerate, think of it like visiting your inlaws or your picky mom.

IF you really cant bear staying somewhere, realize your host is probably doing the best her or she can. I had someone cancel on me because there were cobwebs in the light fixture — this in a rural location in Texas. Bugs happen here, and it doesn't mean we aren't trying our best to have a clean safe space. Work out a refund with them first, YOU need to do the cancelation, not them.

NO parties, unless you have cleared it with hosts. Your hosts will find out, They have neighbors on speed dial!

Leave the spaces as neat and clean as you can, following any check out instructions you have been asked to follow. Unless the cleaning fee is really high, most hosts end up paying more for cleaning than they are charging you.
