Description

What will you learn in this course?

I will show you three basic concepts how to work in concert, festival or theater situations when you have to prepare a lightshow in a very flexible situation, without knowing what kind of music will be there, later on stage. It is the daily business if you work as a light operator in a music club, for a renting company or in lots of festival situations.
This kind of working, called "busking" is one of the most exciting parts of a light operators job, because it is "live", it is in real time and there are no reheursals, no plan "b". In "busking" you are not only a light operator, you are also a part of the band, jamming and improvising with your lights toghether with the musicians on stage.
But there are also some tricks, how to prepare a busking show, to be able to react fast to everthing happening on stage. With a good preparation and a logical configuration of you light desk, you will be prepared to do a good job on every situation.
This course is made for everybody who allready got some skills with ilumination, also for profesionals light operator without that much contact with busking shows, for example traditional theater light operators.
I am not teaching how to program a special console, but I will show you the general ideas of planing a jam show, so, that you can adapt it to your console. In the videos I will use a MAonPC(tm) software to realize all the ideas of the busking concepts. You can download the software and the 3D simulation for free. But also you can adapt the ideas and follow programming on your own console. Every modern console, as Hog(tm), Chamsys(tm), Avolites(tm), MA(tm) etc. will work fine, because the concepts of jamming is universal.

Who this course is for:

  • Light operators without busking experience, semipro light operators, new professionals, light tecs from renting companys.
