General requirements for education training programs in Louisiana stipulate that classroom and clinical coursework must instruct students to effectively handle the medical, psychosocial, physical, environmental and emotional needs of residents and patients in health care facilities. Finally Louisiana coursework guidelines stipulate that more general areas of health care must be covered as well, such as, infection control, body mechanics, common diseases and conditions, behavior modification, implications regarding the aging process, and basic restorative services.
