A Culture of Engagement: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Series is Washington State's foundational learning experience for growing the workforce's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) competence.
We're developing this training as requested by State HR and based on direction established by the statewide DEI Training Committee. The purpose of this training is to be a foundational course for all executive branch Washington state employees. The course aims to develop shared understanding and language around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and help employees gain skills necessary for a respectful and inclusive workplace.
This training is part of statewide culture change efforts to ensure government systems serve Washingtonians with equity and justice. Visit Workforce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (OFM) and Office of Equity websites for more information on statewide DEI efforts.
This training series focuses on the emerging level of the state DEI competencies (PDF). The series is currently in development with the following components:
